James Clements Announced as the Director of "Expanding Table"

James Clements has been announced as the director of Mindy Levokove’s experimental opera “Expanding Table: A Pop-Apart Opera,” which will undertake a mini-tour this summer with the support of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. The opera, which is described by its author as a participatory creative engagement project with songs about empowerment, social justice, climate change and COVID, will tour various public spaces and parks in New York between June and July for a series of free performances.

The show features Shani Bekt, Apryl Higgins, Erica Ortiz, Xijia Zhang and Joanie Fritz Zosike, and the tour is made possible in part with public funds from Creative Engagement, a regrant program supported by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council and administered by LMCC.
